i drove my truck 20 miles today
on my way home it started to sputter then the rpms dropped almost shut off on me
i think its my fuel pressure maybe cloged fuel filter
i checked other threads
i did check my tbi it was squecky clean
also checked the plugs wires cap and rotor and the pcv and egr and maff all good
i went to my local conviniece store and put it in park then it bogged down and shut off it started right up after that
so im thinkin fuel pressure i also put some fuel system cleaner in the gas tank as the owner said the truck sat for 2 weeks before i baught it so im gonn let that work thru the system before i go out and barrow a fuel pressure testor from the oriellys auto parts stor
but if that dont work i am gonna have to check the fuel pressure
it also when drivein is shifting kinda weird from 2-3 kinda hesitates the fluid levels are good but could use a change in the tranny fluid and new filter it looks kinda burnt
but after a while the truck runs great
so maybe its just a fuel pressure problem
also my parking brake light keeps goin on i kno the problem is the pedal falls freely to the floor without any assistance from me i just move the little lever on the pedal up and it stays fro a while i think it needs new springs
if any one knows of the parking brake problem i am having let me know this is a first for me
i will updaye the sputtering proble m after i use the full tank of gas i haave in it

well i looked at my truck today
i need to raplce the temp sensor asmy gauge dont work
also needs the tbi gasket
also the parking brake cable is stuck goin to be workin on it soon

 

well im goin to end up havingto replacethe cable for the parking brake or emergency brake as some call it
that is not gonna be a fun endevor for me as im not sure of how to do that
and i will be getting the temp sensor friday
also i am goin to have my buddys dad run a pressure test on the truck anyway after i replce the fuel filter
i stoped by te local mechanic today to ask him if he would do it he said try replacein the sensor as i was already goin to before he told me that also he said try a new fuel filter
and replace the tbi gasket wich in theory shouldnt be hard but as we all now nothing goes as planned
well see what happens friday
