what 5.3L parts can fit in a 6.0L?
i have the 5.3L in my truck.. but a friend of mine, totaled out a 2006 H2 with the 6.0L... he's selling the engine to me.. but i dont know what of my performance parts, would fit in to that engine.. can somebody help me..?
Wow you are soo lucky thats teh swap Ive been dying to get, how much did you score that for? check LS1truck.com for help on the coversion but you can swap all your 5.3 parts over to the 6.0 long block even the tranny though if its already a complete engine then just swap everything over and re-hook up your wiring though you will need your ecu re-programed for the 6.0. Your exhaust and intake will swap over too. Is he selling the tranny cause that 6.0 wont let your stock 60E last for long if your a power user.
ive got the truck in $600 bucks... all of it.. all that i want to get out of it... dont matter tranny, engine, or what else... the only thing is that i dont know if my headers, intake and all of that stuff is gonna work on that 6.0... (it is so cheap cause he's a very good friend..)
Those will all swap over cause the Gen III engines are all the same with accessories. Dude take the trans also because your regulare 4L60E wont last long if you punish that baby plus it bolts right in also... You will need your pcm re-tuned though and your all set to go. Damn I wish I had a friend that was that cool cause thats a damn cheap price...
Your 4L60E should be fine. I know many of guys with the 04-05 GTO with Magnachargers and they have had very few if any problems with there auto trannys. Norcal GTO if you were curious!
all right, ill go with engine and tranny.. i hope i can feel the difference in power gains.. i think i will.. i guess i'll be around 380hp with all the mods done.. whats ur bet?
i hope so bud! here's a question... everyone told me that when i installed my 4.10's i would reduce my performance installing my posi rear end (cause i did)... what do you think about that? i dont know how can the posi affect performance...
maybe fuel milage, but I could only think that it would help keep the traction needed with performance mods. That is my thoughts. They may know somthing about rolling resistance that I don't know reguarding the posi. The gears may hinder the top end performance due to the amount of rpms that you will be at when you are driving that fast. Mainly becouse you are out of top end gears.Ask them to explain there reasons. This usually puts the Bull Sh*ters in there place. Good luck with the swap over.
