98 gmc sierra 5.7(350)xcab 4x4
I swapped my motor when both heads cracked. now i have an extra 350 - heads. i was going to take it to machine shop and have it bored and honed .30 over, assuming the block is still good and crank. this is just a project for me and my sons. i guess what im looking for is can i get 250- 300 horse out of this block, crank, etc. would i be better off going to junkyard and buying another motor to rebuild. this will take us some time. its not a rushed project, and we plan on using quality performance parts. we dont have a truck for it but we will worry about that later!

300 hp is no prb. for the 350 but if you want a ***** out motor get a ls6 or a 6.0 or 6.2 as far as a small block.
