what yall think is the loudest pipes i can rig up for 95 z71? but i dont to lose power i just want the sound and possibly better gas milage??

 

I assume you have the 5.7, so straight pipes would be loud and nonrestrictive. Those engines work well with open exhaust adn don't need the backpressure like the 5.3.

 

i think that's old enough to where you can even cut your catalytic converters off and not have problems...

 

I had a '94 and the loudest exhaust I ever had on it was no exhaust. It went straight back from the cat a couple feet where a custom Y was made for it and had straight pipes out the back with large chrome tips. Purred at idle, roared when you got on it, and rattled nicely coming back down. Best sounding exhaust I ever had... until the boys in blue made me change it.

Damn I miss that truck....

 

yeah and even if you keep the cats on it will keep it a little quieter as to not attract to much attention from the fizzuzz, actually sounds pretty good, so as far as closer to legal, i would go cats on strait pipes back.

Ive got 2 1/2inchtrue dualswith forty series flows with no cats dumped right before the rearend and its pretty damn loud. Just take out the 40 series flow and there you go!!

 

yea ive got headers with true duals and super 40's dumped behind the cab. i kinda wish i didnt put turn downsonthough cuz i have a gravel driveway and it looks like a tornado everytime i go somewhere. the mufflers are only about $60 a peice

 

Hell yeah Thomas I know what you mean. Thinking about cuttin the turn downs off on mine. I herard it makes a totally different sound though.
