Default what ratio & torque converter should i pick?

i have a 06 silverado single cab 4wd, JBA headers, Magnaflow catback exhaust, FAST FLASH programmer, POWERAID tbi spacer, AIRAID intake sys, MSD sparkplug wires, and my problem here is that it doesnt launch as fast as in want, i used to have a 2003 with a 3.73 ratio and it was faast, this truck has 3.42 ratio, should i change it? or do any of you know of a better one? its my daily driven car, also i've heard of torque converters, here are the specs i've found: TCI Torque Converter 3000 Stall Speed. TCI 4L60E Super Street Fighter Torque Converter, 3000 Stall Speed, 2.2:1 STR 1998-2002 LS1 F-body & 1999-up GM Trucks w/ 4.8, 5.3 or 6.0L. Is that a good one? or do you know of a better one? thaks a lot! does changing termostat improves performance?

TCI makes a great prouduct. 3000 rpm stall might be a ,little high for a daily driver. when i bought mine tci told me to get a 2200 stall converter to liven it my truck up and it did..and cruising rpm is unaffected bc its a lockup converter. going to a higher numerical gear ratio will give you better off the line acceleration but your milage will be affected

If milage is no concern, then go with the 4.10 if stock tires. But it will be expensive. Tell me what price you find, here it is $1000 per axle. I can not comment on stall converter as I got no dogs on that.

theres a nice discussion about 3.73s and 4.10s on the page before this. but the 4.10s will lower your top speed by a little bit. the good tho is that it will give you a little more oooomph in your truck and a little more towing power, with a slightly lower gas mileage. hope that helps.

Another thing to think about is that the top speed will still beover 130, which really how often are you gonna go that fast? I have done it, but not on a regular basis. I would go with the 4.10. And I cannot believe you can get them done for $190 a piece!! The parts alone should be $250. Is this really right?

I ask the same question! This seems to good to be true! Parts are around 300 dollars, which isn't bad if you can install it yourself (GOOD LUCK!) Sorry to say, it would probably take me 3 years to figure the **** out, so labor is where you are going to pay. Labor=Expensive!

Sorry guys, its true, i can get each one for about 250 bucks in arizona, http://www.lmperformance.com/4070/17.html......... but, the good thing about living in Tucson Az, is that i can jump to Hermosillo Sonora Mexico, thereare some very good mecanics that can do this job for cheap, actually they charge me 650 bucks toget the3.73 or 4.10 ratios installed. thanks a lot for your help, as you say, i dont drive 130 [:@]... lol but im looking for the most of the line performance- 85mph, so are you saying 4.10 would be the best option?
thanks

That is incredible! That's it, I'm moving to Mexico!

If you are going to change gears and you are not worried about gas mileage, get 4.10's.

Lastly, if you are going to continue to increase horsepower and you're still thinking about a T/C, a 3000 stall we'll be just fine. Actually, it is what a lot of guys are using and they leave the line like a raped monkey.
