What are some good easy/cheap ways to get extra power,

I was wondering if anyone had any tricks of getting the most out of your engine? I was thinking cold air intake for sure and maybe a TBS? but Im not sure if they actually do do aynthing, I have a 96k1500 witha 5liter vortec

CAI, exhaust, tune, then also look at the free mods in the forum. Forget the TBS.
