I have a 2002 Silverado 1500 Ext Cab Z71 with the 5.3 and 4L60E automatic. It DIDN'T come with the tow package. Does anyone know specifically what was different in the Tow Package AND can I just replace individual parts to upgrade? I just bought a Hitch today and want to make sure I do everything right. The hitch shop said(without looking at the truck) that "They all have Tranny Coolers Now". I know typically Tow Packages include heavy suspension(Z71 should have that covered) High Output alternator( only see a 105 or 130 amp listed,not much difference?),trans cooler(big question there, hard to see through grille?). I am locating a HD cluster with trans temp guage for it also,apparently all are prewired so it is just plug and play.

I know they have a tranny cooler and hitch besides that i am not sure. Does your truck have a tranny cooler on it?
