What's a good offer for this 2009 Chevy?
Hey friends, new to this site and appreciate any help. I looked at a 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT Crew Cab 4x4 z71 with 5.3L. Not LTZ. It has 16K miles and the dealer wants $29,991.
I also looked at another dealer at a brand new 2010 exactly like the above truck except it was new. It listed for $39,000 and then had a $5000 rebate and the salesman got it down to $31,800.
My dilemma is which one do I buy? Obviously I am not going to pay close to 30K for the used one above when I can get the new one for a little more. What would be a good offer for the used one? I was thinking of offering 26000 out the door. Is that too high or are they going to laugh me out the door?
Also, is it common for dealers to roll back odometers any more? I mean you can always look at carfax but I'm sure there is a way around everything. just wondering? thanks for all advice!

Personally, I'd tell them that I'd give $29,991 for the new one and leave. That price dispairity is ridiculous anyways and the customer is always in charge. I may be biased because I'm getting real sick of the local GM dealer here trying to screw me over

...
I just bought a new 2010 LT crew 4x4. Got it for 36,000 taxes in (Canadian). Sticker price on the vehicle was near 50,000 plus tax (13%) after options and freight. They had a demo with 13,000km on it on the lot also, those were the only two 2010s left and the new one had more options than the demo, obviously fewer kms and the price was the same There is no logic to how they are pricing used vehicles
