Default wheels

How does everyone feel about the ride with 20 or 22 inch wheels? I'm considering 20 inch wheels, but my friends with dodge Rams say go smaller. I now have 18s on my Silverado, but there aren't many AT tires in 18s.

I have 17s, its a good mix of looks and smooth ride. I imagine 18s would be too. Some people don't like the hasher ride of 20s let alone 22s. Some people don't care. If I were to do a wheel and tire combo on my truck (and I had the money). I would do 20s with a nice AT tire. You can get Nittos, BFGs, Michellin, pretty much any good off road or all terrain tire in a 20.

Nothing more than they look sweet as hell and they aren't cheap especially for anything 20 and above. Lol.

My friend drove an Expedition on 22"s for a while and I rode around with him a lot and the ride quality didn't suffer at all. It may have made it a bit stiffer but I didn't notice it. I don't like to feel like I'm riding on a cloud though. The good thing is you can adjust the tire pressure to compensate for the added stiffness so it's not like it's all the sudden gonna feel like your riding ona board with solid rubber tires.

personally just get some decent sized rims, something like 18's or 20's and just get some decent sidewall on the tires, dont just "ride on blades" if you know what i mean. i think all rims and no tires looks whack anyways, but thats just me. plus you feel like your riding in a forklift when you do that.

if you get low profile tires you run the risk of bending a rim from not being able to cushion road shock well.

Well it looks like I should know about this more than about anybody else. 20's don't affect your ride at all. because i got better tires my ride has actually improved.

I see those crazy bastards riding around town in their F-350s that are lifted to the heavens, rolling on 37" tires, w/ a 22-24" rim. Makes you ask yourself, what do they do for a living that they can drop that kind of dough on their truck?

Anyway, as far as I can tell, 20"s and an off-road tire just look delicious. 305/50/20 Nitto Grapplers = 4 for $699.99 Not bad IMHO. Of course you have to buy rims, but hey man, you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a good deal on rims.

So I buy 20 inch wheels. Do I go for chrome or polihed alloy or something else?
