I have a 2000 Chevy 1/2 ton. And every time i put it in reverse it makes a whining sound like worn brakes make. I changed the brakes and it still does it. Can anyone give me ideas what else it could be?

Is it a whine, or a squeal, I always thought of worn brake indicators as kind of a screach......., sometimes a the tranny will make a whine noise in gear.........

Maybe try and have someone you trust put the truck in gear will you look under, and try to issolate where the noise it coming from.

I had a seized caliper on my old s10 that made a bad whining noise in reverse. check that.
