I am not looking forward to having the tranny rebuilt. I think it will be happening soon, I was not nice to the old girl when I got it. She was road hard and put away dirty!

What on average, was the mileage of your trucks when the 4L60E's needed to be rebuilt?

I am at 165,000 right now.

I was at about 219,000 or at least in that area when my 3rd and 4th clutch packs went out.

I have about 182k on my 1998, nothing major replaced
My dad has about 130k on 1997 z71, still brand new
240k+ on my 1991 C3500, needed motor rebuilt at 200k
Just sold a 1996 s10 blazer that had 230k and it was still running strong
I think these trucks pretty much last forever.

They only last forever if they are taken car of properly. Mostly, when guys like us who actually care about their vehicles get them that they last pretty much forever, or until we want a newer one! I know I want a new one!

Your C3500 is quite impressive. Why did you sell the s10? It's a good truck and worth keeping.

My '98's got 145k+ and I'm of the opinion that the thing should last at LEAST that long I bought it last year with mileage like that and didn't think twice about it. It had BETTER go for another 50k ya know?

I sold the S10 Blazer because I needed a pickup that still got good mileage and just bought my 1998. Being a college student didn't allow me to keep an S10 Blazer, dually, 1998 pickup, and a motorcycle. Just had too many in the driveway. Of course, the dually was my first vehicle so I had to keep it.
