MY 92 GMC SIERRA WIPERS QUIT (ONLY WHEN IT RAINS :-{ ) WHEN I MANUALLY MOVE WIPER ARM THEY RESTART BUT,QUIT AGAIN !!

TOW DRIVER SAID THIS ALWAYS HAPPENS WITH HIS CHEVY TRUCK !!

CAN THIS BE FIXED ?!! OR NEW MOTOR ?!! IF REPLACED ANY IDEA HOW DIFFICULT AND PART COST ??!! RETIRED OLD CODGER ON SOC. SEC.

Very common problem for GM trucks. The wiper motor itself is not at fault. The circuit board inside that controls the operation is most likely the culprit. Go to www.ckresto.com and check out this part # CTP-17508B. The price is $32.95 plus shipping. I had the exact same thing happen to my C/K and my S-10. Both of them would stop mid-swipe and you would have to get out and smack the wiper motor or jiggle the harness.

 

this is probably a safety recall and you can get it fixed with no charge at a GM dealership, mine does the same thing and I'm gonna take it in. its worth checking out with your dealership to see if you can get it fixed for free.
