Default WON'T START AGAIN!!!

Once again, I'm here asking for help. Recently my Duramax 2500HD has been being hard to start. The other day, it wouldn't start at all. I can get it to start using ether, then it will be ok for a little while. It seems harder to start when it's hot outside, but that may just be a coincidence, I'm not really sure. Sometimes it will be hard to start, sometimes just fine, and sometimes I have to use the ether. Once it's running it runs and idles fine. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

PLEASE do not use Ether...D-maxes run farrr to much compression, and will blow every valve with ether.

Just guessing..I'd say the injectores are losing the prime..or maybe a line chafed.
What kind of repair history has this thing had?

When I use the ether,I don't use much. A quick shot on top of the air filter, spraying for less that 1 sec. The beginning of jan this year I replaced the primer pump assembly. That is the only part I have replaced since I've had the truck (since jan 06). I'm not sure about the repair history before I had the truck and I have no way of contacting the previous owner. I have tried pushing the primer to maybe try to push some fuel through, but that doesn't work.

Update: it's also easier to start if I pump the gas pedal a little bit while starting, but that doesn't work all the time.

By chafed, you guys mean a line that has worn on the outside all the way through allowing fuel to leak out, right? Just wanted to make sure it's not some mechanical term I don't know, haha. I just replaced the fuel filter in Jan when I replaced the primer pump, but even the old one was still pretty clean. Any other suggestions?
