will stock z71 shocks make my 2wd sit any higher? my buddy gave me his for free (got a lift), and if it gives me even half an inch that'll be enough to clear 285 tires...

 

shocks don't raise anything really...you could crank up the torsion bars..but get her aligned afterwards

 

i dont have torsion bars... 2wd... i just thought maybe they were ridiculously stiffer or something

 

You could do a coil spacer. that will help lift it a bit. but it will ride a little stiffer. If they don't make on you can make your own. I put steel blocks in the coils onmy old ranger. it lifted it about an inch. Just a cheap lift solution!

 

I need a set of Z71 shocks. Are Bilsteins alright? Anybody have a recommendation? I have a stock 1999 Z71 that I accationally tow a camping trailer and do a little (calm)off roading. I'm not trying to spend too much?

 

Bilsteins are "too much"...200 bucks apiece,I imagine

 

Go with Ranchos, i got them on my z71 and i like them. I got 4 for about 256
