I recently bought a 1948 Chevy Thriftmaster 1 ton pick up. Someone had stolen the gas tank on it, and I CANNOT find an under the bed tank for it anywhere. Any thoughts on how I can get a tank for it? I'm 0-19 with online production parts and salvage yards.

 

Metal fabrication shop should be able to do one for you.

Also, a company such as Tractor Supply sells tanks that mount in the bed. Not ideal, but it would get you in motion.

I'd also suggest looking into some of the online enthusiasts' groups for old vehicles. At this point, Google can become your friend.
