Default 1999 Dodge Dakota R/T

im a new member and i drive a 1999 Dodge Dakota R/T. i wanna know how much horse power does this ride have because my friend said that this was the year they started to put the viper engine in the R/T. i just wanna know how much torque and horse power its got. its got a V8 engine. im only 17 i live in la i put at least 40 miles a day on it, maybe more but now the little check engine light is turned on i dont know if i should get it checked out or does someone know what it means. oh yeah i forgot to add its got a V8 5.9L engine

the dakotas RT are just a sport version of the base model
it comes with more power but not much compared to the ram

dont mean to be rude, but your friend has no idea what hes talking about. dodge has never put the viper engine in any dakotas. the only truck the have put on in is the srt-10 rams. the r/t v-8 should be the 360 magnum motor, you should be right around 250 bhp.
