Hey all, my buddy just got a 1996 Ram 1500 3.9L 6cyl. and the transmission is bad. Now im not sure if the 42RE is used for the 6cyl or not but can anyone tell me what transmissions will bolt up to this motor and from what? I think jeep uses the same thing?? I'm all ears for all the help i can get! thanks alot!

 

Alright, well i just found a trany on Craigslist from a jeep but it is a 42RE that was bolted up to a 4.0 v6 instead of the 3.9 v6. Will this work??
