difference: diesel radiator caps vs. gasoline radaitor caps

difference: diesel radiator caps vs. gasoline radaitor caps
I was just working on a diesel cooling system and noticed that the radiator caps have a lower pressure rating than a gasoline radiator cap... does anybody know why these caps are different? what is the significance of a lower pressure cap on a diesel??
