Default Dodge Diesel 2500

I have a 3/4 Chevy, I am thinking about trading it for a 2004, 3/4 ton Dodge Diesel with about 60K.

Anyone know of special maintenance service that should be done at 60K on thediesel. This truck should pull my RV with no problem, what I like about the truck is the fuel mileage, much better than 10-13 mpgwith the old 350 chevy engine.

Am I heading in the right direction with this trade?

I had one with the H.O. Cummins option in 2004. It was a great truck, and i wish to this day i would've kept it. I had a edge programmer for it also, and it really woke that sucker up! I would get 19's driving it aggresively unloaded and pulling 12,000lbs i would get 13mpg.

1fast4X4,
Thanks for the reply, sounds like you had a good experience with 2004 diesel.

How about maintenance issues, I have never owned a diesel,
Do they get regular oil changes say5K intervals, fuel filters, etc: what auto trans #do they have and can transhold up to that power.

Did your wife ride in it or drive it, if so, what did she think of noise and handling?

my wife drives the old chevy like it was her van, but its not making a lot of noise.

My friend said he was getting 22 mpg with his, now he would be driving 55-62 mph and his is a 6 speed.
Is his mileage a little high?
