Truck Bed Trouble

Truck Bed Trouble
I have a 1995 Ram 1500. The problem is the bolts that hold the bed onto the truck seem to be falling out!! The bed is separating from the cab, and there are five bolts that have come out. Does anyone know if it is possible for these to just come loose and fall off, or would they have to be taken off??

Wow, you better be careful with that thing. If Dodge didn't use locking nuts, then through vibration and pot holes and stuff like that, those bolts could loosen themselves.
I've never heard of anything like that, but if and when you replace the bolts, get some of those locking nuts with the nylon insert embedded in them.

RE: Truck Bed Trouble
the odds are that when the truck was assembled, they used lock washers, not lock nuts...lock washers should more than do the job, but this does seem very odd...when you consider the amount of water that hits those bolts, they are usually a NIGHTMARE to remove..i think someone may have been trying to mes with your truck, OR perhaps there was some reason in the past to remove the bed, and they were never tightened properly?
