Default Did my mechanic just rip me off?!?!?!

I own a 1998 dodge 1500 5.9L V8....its pretty good shape and runs great...

However it started leaking fluid from the radiator. When i took it to my mechanic
he said that the plastic shroud that covers the fan had warped and started to rub
the radiator. According to him it rubed a small hole in the radiator. I asked if it could
be welded (my dad owns a machine shop) and the mechanic
immediately told me it couldnt. So i took his word for it.

So he ordered a new radiator and installed it, then charged me over $500!!!
I keep running the numbers in my head and i think there is no way it
should of been that much!!!

Just wanted yalls opinion.....thanxs

if its a plastic tanked/alumnium core radiator...yes the rad itself is 300 or more...then a shroud and labor/coolant...it could have gone higher
