Hello All,

I am trying to help my neighbour with a problem with his '99 F150 V8 4wd. His speedometer reads fine up to about 40mph and then it stays right there no mattter how fast you go past that. The weird deal is his, cruise control works fine at any speed that he tries. Does anyone have some insigt into what might be going on?

Did you ever figure it out??? My truck is a 97 4x4 167K mile, and speedo works properly upto 37MPH and stops there. Transmission shifts fine, Cruise control works properly and Odometer works fine. Unrelated issue (I think) the overdrive off light will come on after 10 or so miles and flash at me until truck is restarted but seems to shift and drive fine. PLEASE any suggestions?!?!?!
