1982 f100
i just bought a 1982 ford f100 that has 23000 original miles, but it has been sitting in the guys garage for 8 years and he said that he is scared to start it because there is a certain way and he is affraid he might damage it, ofcourse it will need a new battery and new tires, but what is the proper way to start a truck that has been sitting and not started for 8 years?

just fire the engine and watch for oil pressure...if you want to do it right .....you pull the distributor and put an oil pump primer in and prime the motor first....but then you have to re time the engine..........hit it with some carb cleaner and fire it.....or you could just buy a Chevy........lol
