Over the past month or so, the switch in the clutch is going bad. It is to the point where I hold the key, and "hunt" with the clutch pedal until I find the "sweet spot" where the starter will engage. It there any way to bypass this switch?

 

That is your Neutral Safety Switch. Yes you can by pass it or you can readjust it.
