I bought a 2000, F250, 4x4, 7.3 Diesel, with 137k miles. This is my first diesel. When I turn the key to start it, it turnes over a few times before taking off. It does not a long time, probably about 2 seconds. But my buddy has the same truck and his starts almost immediately. I intend to change the oil, filter, and fuel filter, this weekend. Is there something else I should consider as I dig into the truck.

Additionally, I locked the front hubs yesterday and got an audible squeal that got quieter as I drove, but never really went away. I engaged into 4 High and the 4WD worked, but the squeal concerns me.
