Default Coolant loss 7.3

Friend of mine has a box truck with a '91 7.3 in it. We lose coolant a little and there's a little oil showing in the coolant. Eggglass did nothing. PowerStroke of Anchorage has been looking at it. Did a dye test and more. Guy's put a lot into this beast, new tranny, brakes, etc; Any ideas? I'm for head gasket or head crack. these kids have bad luck with diesels. Thanks for anything.
