Default Loss of Heating

My 2000 Silverado has experienced a loss of heating. Before, if the engine was warm and I cranked the heater and held my hand up to a vent, it could almost singe the hair off. Now, its just slightly warm. I'm fine with it, but the wife and kiddies are gonna be looking for a lil more heat when fall and winter roll back around. Any thoughts on where to start probing?

Thanks

Default RE: Loss of Heating

hey i totaly understand. the heater coil might be burned out. heater relay might be bad. mine is a 90 and is located onthe pass side firewall behind a plastic cover. not sure about yours. i also changed out my computer which is behind the glovebox but that made my heater a little cooler. my truck wouldnt start for nothing. so i changed a lot of parts then found out the icm was bad. but i put my original computer back in heater works like normal. hope this gives you a couple ideas.

I would check anu-freeze levels.
Heater coil may be out.
Could be a thermostat getting stuck.
start off with the basics first..
Good luck
