Default Electrical Problem

I just bought this truck in early January. After a week or two, occasionally the battery indicator lamp will start flickering, rapid flicker, on two or three seconds, flicker, off for a while, etc. It seems totally random. It may happen once a day, three times a day, not at all for two or three days.

Today it started doing it again, but it would occasionally come on and stay on, the radio dies, and all dash gauges die. They will stay of anywhere from 3 seconds to 12 or so seconds, then all will come back on. The truck still runs fine and drives fine, just no gauges or radio. The battery indicator will go back off and all gauges and radio work again.

The timing is random, type of driving doesn't matter, it has happened on the expressway, and in stop and go traffic. Bumps don't matter, there seems to be no pattern. Can anyone tell me what these things have in common, and where to start looking for the problem.

This is a 2006 F350 Lariat edition dually with a 6.0 liter diesel.

Thanks
Ken
