Default Oil change questions

I have a 2006 F250 with the 6.0 diesel. I just got is uses with 13,500 miles on it. The owner's manual recommends motorcraft oil WSS-M2C171-D but I cannot find it for sale. I can only find WSS-M2C171-E. Has the -E suffix oil replaced the -D oil? Can I substitute it without problem?

Also even though the owners manual says the crankcase capacity is 15 quarts, there is no way that 15 quarts either come out of there or can fit back in. I let it drain through the drain plug and remove the filter at the same time. Do I need to tilt the truck to get all the oil out or is the manual lying to me?
