Default rear axle yoke loose

Hi, the other day I noticed some oil leaking from my rear axle input seal, than when i went to clean the oil around it I realized it was coming from the nut so I gave the yoke a jerk and noticed it was loose. The last few days I could feel a vibration when I would slow down to a stop and shift into neutral. So it all made sense, my yokes loose, dripping oil, vibration. I pulled the rear u-joint and tightend up the yoke just till I had no more play but not overtightend. Now that I made it home I would like to make sure my bearing is not damaged, can I just pull the yoke out and pull the bearing to check it or is there more to it? The truck is a 1986 Ford F-350 4x4 6.9 Diesel with a 4 speed stick.
