Rebuild Harmonic Balancer
Hi,
My harmonic balancer came apart recently due to the deteriorated rubber ring. I have been having a heck of a time finding the right part here in Mexico, and internet sites cost more than 5x the cost of the part to ship to me. I was thinking of trying to repair it myself - is this even something I should consider?
My thought is to use some high-temp silicone rubber repair stuff in a tube after sanding down the contact points to bare metal. Isn't that essentially what they do when you send them to be rebuilt? My first idea was to try to use plumbers epoxy until I get a new one, but that defeats the purpose of the rubber flexing and absorbing.
Any help is greatly apreciated...
