Either I lost my spare tire key or the truck didn't come with one when I bought it a couple years ago. I can't get my spare tire off now.

How would I go about replacing the lock without having a key to take it out? If I have to drill it out what size bit is used?

 

Most dealerships have a basket full of those keys. They should be able to help you out with one.

 

Are they all the same cut? Wouldn't that make it easy to steal other people's tires?

 

No, There is usually a dozen or so different cuts. So it will involve a few tries
