Default Performance in engine in 90's 1500's

So, I was talking with someone who said that some of the 90's and even earlier trucks were built at the factory with High Performance Engines and Camshafts instead of the standard stock 350's. He said he thought my 91 Suburban may have one because it has a 3 inch exhaust.

Was wondering if anyone knew if there is any truth to this and how I might go about verifying this about my vehicle. Thanks.

ok if there is any truth to it you may actaully have a 454 in your truck i know that they put them in some 2500s and 3500s and w/t or sport 1500s
anyway in your glove box there is a sticker it will have abunch of numbers right those down and look on this forum there is a thread somewhere on here that has a link to decifer those codes
the codes will tell you every thing you could ever need to know from trim color to original factory paint color to what size your diff is and what size engine to what type of seats were originally in or are still in it
i hope that helps you out some

The only 1500 series truck that got a 454 was the SS trucks from 90-93. The sports trucks had 350's. As far as the original poster I am not sure if there were different HP rated 350's made.
