1989 GMC Sierra Fuel Injection problem
I have a problem I can't seem to fix. My truck started to cut down to four cylinders on my way to work....I would step on the gas a little and it would go away. I had not changed plugs, wires, distributor cap, or rotor in awhile so I did that. It did not fix my problem. The engine continued to cut out occassionally and run on just four cylinders. I took the air cleaner off and watched my fuel injectors. When the problem occurs, the injector on the passenger side stops injecting fuel.....it just cuts out. I then thought maybe I had a clogged injector. I swapped my entire Throttle Body with a friends to see if that was my problem. It did not fix my problem. The injector on the passenger side still was cutting out occassionally. I switched the fuel injector wires around, and it would make the driver side injector cut out. I now think I have some sort of electrical problem that is cutting the signal to the passenger side injector. Anyone have any idea's for me to help me troubleshoot? I checked the obvious like looking at the wiring and the connections to make sure it wasn't just shorting out somewhere. It seems more like its receiving some sort of signal that kicks it off......and then when I step on the gas it changes the signal and kicks that fuel injector back in. Help!
