Default 1994 engine swap

I have a 94 Chevy truck with a 4.3l v6. My brother in law gave me a 94 Chevy truck that his boy wrecked with a 5.7l v8. how much trouble is it going to be to swap the motor out from the wrecked truck to old blue?

I'm no expert on Chevy engine swaps, but assuming "old blue" is older than FI engines, the engine, transmission, wire harness and computer will have to all be swapped in (maybe not the trans). Then there are issues like motor perches (are they compatible with the 94) and fuel lines. The FI engine needs a fuel return line to the tank and an in-line or intank fuel pump that delivers adequate fuel pressure. Maybe you could swap over the tank and fuel pump from the wreck.

Swapping from a 4.3 to a 5.7 shouldn't be that much trouble. The 4.3 is just a 350 minus 2 cylinders. The wiring harness should plug into everyything on the 350 and you just plug in the computer in the existing harness. The 94 4.3 is fuel injected so you won't have to do anything to the tank and the lines should hook up fine. The trans will not have to be swapped. Everything should pretty much bolt up. You got it eazsy cause the two trucks are the same year and chevys are good engines for engine swaps. I'm puttin a 4.3 in my dodge dakota right now and its actually goin pretty smoothly
