Default 97 Chevrolet Cheyenne C/k2500

I have a 1997 Chevrolet Cheyenne C/K 2500 and have a problem. About a year ago my dad backed a lowboy trailer into the driver side door and I never took the time to get it fixed. Now I will just pull the dent out but in order to do so I have to get the inside of the door off. I can not seem to figure out how to get the window handle off, it is a standard window, not an automatic. Can anyone help me?

I suggest you buy a chitlin or Haynes manuel (avalible at any auto shop) for your vehicle (It will help in this and many other problems)

This is how to get the door panel off on my truck (A 97 silverado 1500) :

1. there should be 2 screws in the "handle" on the door , remove them
2. the window/lock control assembly can be pulled off.
3. use a flathead screwdrive to pop off the outer shell of the inside door handles
4. the interior door should be a huge snap off assembly. (it requires a bit of work and may feel like it's breaking but it's just coming loose.
