i have a 98 GMC 3500HD 7.4L . i just replaced the starter and found the cranking wire melted together with the temp sensor wire just below the right side exhaust manifold. so i figure the temp sensor wire has been sending 12v to the ecm every time i crank the starter, and also resting at ground whenever the starter is not engaged. i separated and insulated both wires and want to know if i should be concerned at all with the computer or any other components? any advice would be gratefully appreciated... weevensteven.

 

un less you are having other ecm problems I wouldnt be concerned
