AC problems in Chevy Suburban

Default AC problems in Chevy Suburban
My AC does not work on my 1993 Chevy Suburban. The fans work, the AC indicator light comes on but no cold air and no signs of the compressor engaging. Where do I begin checking? Is the compressor bad?

Your system is low on freon. Have it serviced and check for any leaks. The system has a low pressure switch that shuts the system down if the freon is too low to prevent compressor damage.
