Default Anyone have the time?

I have a 98 sierra 1500, 4.3, 5 speed, and so on......Replaced intake manifold gaskets yesterday. Forgot to mark the distributor upon removal. I've attempted to spin the harmonic balancer to line up the marks. After 3 different attempts and numerous bottles of asprin I was still getting nothing. After looking, I noticed the balancer has 4 timing marks. I tried to feel for compression in the number 1 plug hole, didn't work too well without help. How am I supposed to know which mark (of the 4) is the correct one since I do not have enough hands to spin and feel for compression at the same time.

Default RE: Anyone have the time?

No quick answers here................Okay, scrath the original question. After trying all 4 marks AGAIN, the last mark is the one i want. Engine starts but sputters out quickly. It's been a while since i've done this. Now that i have the correct mark, what are my fine tuning instructions for timing advance? Any replies are appreciated. I did a search but didn't come up with anything close.
