Im looking to changing out my existing (ugly) grille on my 89 cheyenne 1500 with the nicer 94 and up chrome grille. Does anyone know what i need to accomplish this? Can it bolt up, or do i need to do major modifications? the two grilles look very similar in shape.

Hi, I too have a Cheyenne (1988) that I had hoped to modify cosmetically with an updated grill. As you probably know, the body style did not change until, I believe, 1999, so all the body parts are practically interchangeable, including the grill; just a direct bolt-on. The only caveat is that the headlight cluster ( dual in the Silverados) should match up. Other than that, I don't think you will have a problem. As an aside, there are commercially availabe kits (basically the front clip) to change the appearance to an Avalanche or an Escalade, but it's an expensive mod to do.
