Exclamation How can I look up GM Part# online with VIN

I would like to lookup my own GM part numbers without relying on a dealer to help me.

I have a 1992 Chevrolet Suburban and often need to buy GM parts.

Sometime I will visit my local GM dealer and using my VIN the dealer will lookup the part number for me.

I like to shop around online for the best price using the GM part number.

Question: Is there a way to lookup GM part numbers for my vehicle online for free?

The various GM parts dealers online no longer include the part numbers. They just ask for you VIN and let ypou search by description.

Currently I am looking for the GM part numbers for the HD Radiator w/oil & trans cooling lines, copper core, and the coresponding water pump.

Any thoughts please?

This is my new favorite site...
http://www.compnine.com/index.php

Just click on the "Diagrams" link and go from there.

If you go to the "Research" link you can do a VIN search and get all the RPO codes.

Mr_Shamrock, wow that works great...my new favourite site.

I used the VIN to pull up all my RPO's. I know this is options, what does RPO stand for?

Also I found my radiator part in the diagram breakdown. There are some additional codes I was wondering about.

CK1, 2, 309(03-53)(L05, MD8, MT1, 5A6)

I get the options OK...
L05 = 5.7 litre engine, MD8 = transmission type

Wondering about the other codes...
CK1, CK2, 309 (03-53) What is CK1 etc

I tried google with little result, although I am ready to do more research

I used to have access to the AllData Repairs manuals through my library, but sadly due to the economic times the library has cut back.

Are there other online repair resources, just thought I would ask?

Cheers...

I am not 100% but an educated guess would be...
CK1 = C1500 or K1500
CK2 = C2500 or K2500
again this is only a guess.

I am not sure on a substitute for All Data - I no longer have All Data either, but I haven't found a job that I couldn't google and get enough info to get the job done (along with a repair manual). Good Luck!
