Default Starter Question

Went to start my truck after working 15 hours and all I got was a single click comeing from the starter. Tried to jump nothing, check relay and its good. Bought a new starter, installed. Went to go start expecting a clean start and same thing, one click no start with the new starter. AAAHHHH!!!! Its 12 degrees out and my I'm working on my truck at work. Guys at autozone tested old starter and said it was bad, would the new one be bad to? Of course its a fine refurbished Messican part.

Is there anything I am missing?

Default RE: Starter Question

Turns out it was the battery cable. I took that dam thing off 15 times and cleaned it another 10 and it just finally decided to work. It actually finally sparked the starter after I was almost donw installing a new cable. While I was taking the + off the starter it sparked with the socket touching both terminals. Crazyness. The rubber groments around the terminal ends suck! Tore them right off!

Default RE: Starter Question

I have never had that much of a problem with cables before. They were clean, it was just the grommments that gave me the problem. Now I gotta buy new posts and spacers. Stripped the hell out of the + post. Not enough clearence with the air box to use a regular socket, its time for a 5/16 ratcheting wrench.
