Default Stuck in neutral

I hope someone has a clue. I have an 87 Chevy C10 with the Muncie M20 transmition. It's stuck in neutral. Anyone out there have an idea how to get the shifter to move again? There doesn't seem to be any external linkage; the shifter enters straight into the tranny.
Thanx!

first thing I would check is that your stop light sensor is working. They are usually attached to your break pedal and determines when you depress your pedal which allows you to switch gears.

Default Stop light sensor?

That wouldn't be it. This is a manual transmission truck. You have to be able to shift without the brake depressed. Thanx for the input though!
