transmission fluid change 1995 c1500
Hello..... In the 1960s I worked for Chevrolet, and changed the transmission fluid on many vehicles but have not done this in decades... So I now need to change the tranny fluid on a new project, a 1995 Chevy 1500... I was very confident that I could do this without much grief... but have run into some roadblocks..... I am guessing it is a square pan with 16 bolts but wanted to confirm it by crawling under and counting the bolts... and there was the problem... the transmission cross member support is in the way of counting... and further, it will have to be removed to get the rear pan bolts removed... I have seen a couple very poor You Tube videos on the how to, but, wonder if there is a decent video done by A1 or somebody reliable... and do I have this right? Basically try to remove the rusty bolt coming through the middle of the support from the middle of the transmission.... remove the four bolts holding the transmission cross member... jack up the tranny somewhere ( suggestions appreciated) to get the transmission high enough remove the cross member and then go to work removing the 16 bolts etc...... All suggestions and help is more than appreciated.....
Thanks... Dennis
Thanks... Dennis
