Default gas or diesel daily driver

in the next month or two I am going to be looking to find a new vehicle. somewhere in the 12,000-15,000 dollar range. I would go up to 20,000 if its a good deal. but I refuse to by a car, so I wanted peoples opinions what would be a better option. Id drive any where from 40-100 miles a day. as of now I wont do much towing but that may change. I just want to hear peoples opinions who have had both. id also like to factor in fuel milage, repair cost, how frequent the maintnence is needed and any other major money factors. thanks!

In my idea if you are going to use your vehicle as a commuter get a gas engine, if you will use it for some pulling or trailing get a diesel engine. Fuel efficiency diesel engine has the edge but maintenance and repair get a gas engine.

I have to agree, with the amount of commuting you will be doing... It would be more economical to go gasser.
My diesel costs me on average over $1000 a month to operate

Yeah making payments and having to pay for fuel I doubt I could afford that. Thanks for the reply!
