Smoke out the tailpipe from. First crank
I have a 2008 chevy silverado. When I crank it the first time it kinda lugs to start and puffs a bit of smoke but then the smoke goes away. My buddy who is a decent mechanic said it could be the battery not turning the start enough which allows the gas to accumulate and cause smoke when it does fire up. Or the starter itself going bad. I have read some horror stories from cracks in block to bad gaskets letting other fluids get In Combustion Chamber. I have not seen a decrease in coolant. Oil seems to be fine. Oil pressure and engine temp normal. Has anyone else seen this problem. Could use some more help. Oh and the timing belt is worn to the point I'm getting it changed out Friday.
