Default V8 Broken Fuel Pump

I have an international 392 I’m trying to get running, but the hole for the mechanical fuel pump is broken. The threads and a small chunk of metal are broken off on the left side of it. I don’t know much about these, but would it be ok to tighten the other side and make sure the other side is sealed well, maybe with high temp gasket maker? This truck will never need to be on the road, I just need it to move in and out of a barn for catering. There is still a pretty good seal around the hole for the lever. ( BTW I’m just putting a block off plate on it, not a pump. )

If the push rod is seized, you may have a burr on the end of the push rod, and you may have wiped off the cam on the cam. If the cam eccentric is worn out, you need to either go to the electric pump or replace / rebuild the cam. In any case, it is not correct to continue driving without a serious inspection as wall work worker say with all confidence. But given that you are not going to ride it, then driving in and out should be enough for you, then tighten firmly and use sealant. Not sure if this is a good option but in your situation may be enough.
