Post V8 diesel vs. 2.7l eco boost

Hello everyone, I have a question that’s been on debate with a lot of friends lately. We’ve been comparing the 2.7 L eco-boost TwinTurbo with V-8 diesels. I’ve been told that eco-boost can out haul a Chevy Duramax 6.6 L. While I don’t doubt the eco-boost could beat a V-8 diesel in a tug-of-war or a race I just don’t see how it could out haul a v8 diesel while both were loaded down to maximum Hauling capacity. If anybody could give me some insight on what they believe it would be awesome. Thanks.
