What is the best engine for a 2000 to 2010 full size pick-up
I do not know if this belongs here or not, if it does not belong here you may move it where it belongs
I am looking to buy a 2000 to 2010 Full Size Pick-Up and would like to know which engine is the best 6 cyl engine that has the best track record of the less amount of trouble and repairs?
If you could tell me which engine is the best performance in Ford, Chevy, Dodge, GMC and Toyota?
Which engine will get 300,000 miles and is solid as a rock trouble free.
Do you feel that there are very solid Full Size Pick-Up out there in these years ?
I keep all my vesicles in top running conduction.

I think you did just fine writing the post? What do you need help with?
As far as engines go, I really do not have an answer for you as I will not buy a v6 truck. I'd rather have my engine work half as hard for twice as long, and it's always worked out quite well for me

For that year range, most full-size trucks used V8 engines, but a few had strong 6 cyl options.
For Ford, the 4.2L V6 is simple but not as strong as the V8s.
For Chevy and GMC, the 4.3L V6 is known to last a long time with basic care.
For Dodge, the 3.7L V6 was available but not as common in full-size trucks.
For Toyota, the 4.0L V6 in the Tundra is known to be reliable.
If you want 300,000 miles, the Toyota 4.0L V6 and the Chevy/GMC 4.3L V6 have a good record when serviced on time.
Yes, there are solid trucks from those years if they were cared for and not abused.

the toyota 4.0l 1gr-fe v6 found in the tundra is definitely your best bet for 300,000 miles since it's basically legendary for longevity with just basic maintenance for chevy and gmc the 4.3l vortec is a total tank and incredibly cheap to fix but it’s a bit gutless in a full size truck compared to their v8s ford’s 4.2l v6 in the f-150 is actually very solid but usually only made it to 2008 while the dodge 3.7l is okay but often suffers from transmission issues or oil sludge if you aren't perfect with oil changes
if you want a rock solid truck from that era look for a 2003-2006 chevy silverado or a toyota tundra because those years have the least amount of "modern" electronic headaches and the frames are built like bricks just keep an eye on the rust if you're in a salt state because the mechanicals will almost always outlast the body on these older pickups
