Default 285/70/17 on 2000 Silverado

Hey I just was given some 285/70/17's for my 16th birthday to put on my 2000 Chevy Silverado reg cab 4wd by some relatives since I desperately needed some tires. I am going to put 17x9 XD Diesel's on it with 5.00 backspacing. I'll admit I'm not too smart about trucks so I was wondering if these would rub with a 1.5-2.5 leveling kit. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I was also thinking about putting some wheel spacers on to make it look like I had 17x10's or something around that. So any input on wheel spacers would be appreciated also.

i personally would not go with the spacers butthat is my opinion....if u like them then go for it...but with that little leveling kit on there those tires would fit just fine!

I just like the look of wide wheels for some reason, but I've heard bad things about wheel spacers so I'm not too sure. Thanks for the info about the leveling kit tho

well if the wide wheels is what you are going for get some 305/70/17s...but beware that tires for 17s are pretty expensive...u may want to even consider going to an 18...but i use to have 305/70/16 and they sat about an inch out from the side of my truck but they didnt look like narrow tires that stuck out wide...hopefully this will help a little

Well I was given some Firestone Destination A/T 285/70/17's for free by a relative so I'm just tryin to work with what I got lol. Well if I can get them to sit out a half inch to an inch I'll be perfectly happy tho.

I'll agree with that. If only a leveling kit and wheels were free too.
